IShowSpeed Hits 48 Million Subscribers in Kenya
Popular American streamer Darren Jason Watkins Jr, known as IShowSpeed, achieved 48 million subscribers during his Kenya tour.
Moreover, he gained over 360,000 new subscribers while livestreaming his first day in Nairobi.
Speed Does Africa Tour Gains Momentum
IShowSpeed is in Kenya for his 28-day “Speed Does Africa Tour.”
Additionally, his livestream attracted more than 200,000 real-time viewers, marking one of YouTube’s most significant numbers.
He admitted Kenya was the most overwhelming stop, judging by the massive crowds welcoming him in Nairobi.
Visits to Iconic Kenyan Landmarks
During his tour, Speed visited Upper Hill High School, Mukuru housing project, and the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.
Furthermore, he explored Kenyatta Market, Uhuru Park, and Nairobi National Park, experiencing Kenya’s vibrant culture and wildlife.
He met javelin star Julius Yego and raced in a safari rally vehicle in Nairobi’s CBD.
Finally, he capped Day 1 with a helicopter ride, viewing Talanta Stadium, soon renamed Raila Odinga Stadium.
Government Welcome and Global Reach
President William Ruto welcomed IShowSpeed, praising Kenya as “magical” and “the origin of wonders.”
Additionally, Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano interacted with him at KICC before his helicopter tour.
Besides Kenya, Speed has visited South Africa, Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique.
He is also set to tour Senegal and Nigeria, expanding his African fanbase further.
