George Oduor, Raila’s Trusted Aide, Dies in Nairobi

George Oduor, a longtime aide to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, has passed away. He died at Nairobi West Hospital after a two-week stay.

A Key Figure in Raila’s Inner Circle

For over 30 years, Oduor remained a trusted figure in Odinga’s political journey. He was often seen by his side at public meetings, political rallies, and major events. His presence was a familiar sight to many.

A close friend said Oduor grew up in Kaloleni in Nairobi’s Eastlands area. “He was keen on fitness training and weightlifting,” the friend told the said.

“He initially offered his services to Raila’s father, Mzee Jaramogi Oginga Odinga.” reportedly joined Raila’s team after the death of Jaramogi in 1994.

Oduor is also said to have been a police reservist and attended VIP protection training locally and internationally.

In some of the pictures doing rounds on social media, Oduor is seen in 1994 during the funeral service of Jaramogi.

In another, he is standing next to the hearse carrying the caskect of Raila’s father draped in Ford Kenya flag.
