President Ruto Calls Out Muturi Over Legal Incompetence

President Ruto has openly criticized former Attorney General and current Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi, labeling him as incompetent in handling legal matters.
Speaking on Tuesday evening during an Iftar session at State House in Nairobi, Ruto expressed his dissatisfaction with Muturi’s performance, particularly regarding the prolonged delay in establishing a Waqf commission. A Waqf is a charitable endowment in which a Muslim dedicates property for religious, charitable, or public benefit.
Ruto Assures Muslim Community of Progress
Addressing the gathering, Ruto assured the Muslim community that under the leadership of the newly appointed Attorney General, Dorcas Oduor, the government would expedite the process of setting up the commission.
“As we move forward, we will continue addressing key issues, including education, and finding ways to integrate religious and formal education,” Ruto stated.
Referring to the Waqf delay, he added, “I agree with you; it has taken too long. There was no reason for the delay, and I had a problem with the AG who was there. He was fairly incompetent. Now, I have a very competent lady, and I can assure you that the issues surrounding Waqf will be resolved.”

Muturi Fires Back at Ruto’s Criticism
Despite Ruto’s accusations, Muturi has remained vocal in his criticism of the government, particularly regarding its handling of rising abduction cases in the country.

Recently, while addressing the media, Muturi dismissed speculation about resigning from his position. He emphasized that his priority was ensuring accountability within the government.
“Why would I resign for speaking the truth? I must call out mistakes where I see them. My resignation would not solve the issues at hand,” Muturi stated during a press briefing on Friday, March 21.
The ongoing tension between Ruto and Muturi highlights the internal struggles within the government, as both leaders stand firm in their positions regarding governance and accountability.
