Kenyan singer Bridget Blue has reached a new milestone after her album RNB (Rhythm & Blue) entered the first round of voting for the 69th Annual Grammy Awards.
The project is under consideration in the Best Progressive R&B Album category, raising hopes of international recognition for the Kenyan musician. However, Bridget has clarified that consideration does not mean she has secured an official Grammy nomination.
Bridget Blue Explains Grammy Consideration
In a video shared on Instagram, Bridget explained what the development means for her album and her fans. She clarified that RNB (Rhythm & Blue) has appeared on the first-round ballot for Recording Academy members to consider.
Members must vote during the designated period to determine which recordings advance to the final nomination stage. Therefore, Bridget’s album has not yet secured a place among the official nominees.
Album Surpasses 10 Million Spotify Streams
The consideration comes after RNB (Rhythm & Blue) reportedly surpassed 10 million streams on Spotify. The album achieved the milestone approximately six months after its release, highlighting its growing reach among listeners.
Its placement on the Grammy consideration ballot could also introduce Bridget’s music to a wider international audience. Nevertheless, the final outcome will depend on the Recording Academy’s voting process.
Grammy Voting Timeline
The first round of voting opened on October 12, 2026, and runs through October 22, according to the information provided.
During this period, eligible Recording Academy members vote on recordings submitted for consideration across the award categories.
Projects that receive sufficient support can advance to the final nomination ballot. The Academy will then announce the official nominees after the voting process concludes.

A Potential Milestone for Kenyan Music
Bridget Blue’s Grammy consideration has drawn attention to her work and the growing international ambitions of Kenyan artists.
Although consideration is not the same as a nomination, the development places RNB (Rhythm & Blue) in the running for recognition within a major international music awards process.
For now, fans will be watching to see whether the album advances to the final nominee list for the 69th Annual Grammy Awards.
