FKF leadership crisis involving President Hussein Mohammed

FKF president Hussein Mohammed says members of his National Executive Committee have refused to attend meetings as efforts to resolve a leadership dispute stall.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Hussein Mohammed has accused members of the federation’s National Executive Committee of refusing to attend meetings, as efforts to resolve its deepening leadership crisis remain unsuccessful.

Speaking on Monday, Mohammed repeatedly questioned why resolving the dispute had proved difficult. He directed his frustration at members of his own executive committee while explaining the failure of attempts to end the impasse.

Meeting attendance at centre of complaint

Mohammed’s remarks placed committee members’ participation in meetings at the centre of his account of the crisis. He accused members of staying away as the federation sought a way through its leadership differences.

The allegation represents the FKF president’s position on why efforts to bring the leadership together have struggled. His remarks did not establish the reasons behind the members’ alleged refusal to attend.

Resolution efforts remain stalled

The dispute has left the federation facing an unresolved leadership problem, with Mohammed’s comments highlighting the difficulty of securing engagement within its executive ranks.

His repeated questioning on Monday underscored his frustration with the unsuccessful attempts at a resolution. Rather than announcing a breakthrough, the FKF president focused on the conduct of committee members he accused of failing to participate.

For now, the central issue raised by Mohammed is whether the federation’s leadership can come together to address the impasse. His public complaint offered no indication that the differences had been settled.
