The singer says fever, weakness, a cough and loss of voice have left him unable to perform or travel.

Nameless cancels shows in Nakuru, Nanyuki and Nairobi after falling ill, withdrawing from three scheduled weekend performances. The Kenyan singer said his symptoms had left him unable to travel or take the stage.

In an Instagram statement, he described a high fever, extreme weakness, a cough and loss of voice. He had tried to recover over several days, but his condition had not improved enough to perform.

Nameless cancels shows as illness disrupts weekend plans

The musician had planned to perform in Nakuru on October 16 before attending two engagements on October 17. His itinerary included the Loop Safari Series in Nanyuki that afternoon and Kettle House in Nairobi that evening.

However, the illness forced him to pull out of all three appearances. He apologised to fans who had made plans to attend the performances.

For the Nanyuki engagement, Nameless explained that he could neither make the journey nor perform. He also expressed regret to the Nairobi audience who had expected him at Kettle House.

The singer stressed that he valued his fans’ continued support and hoped to make up for his absence. Meanwhile, he asked for time to recover before returning to live performances.

Replacement dates to follow

Nameless said he would communicate new dates for the affected shows. Arrangements for the Nakuru performance would follow as soon as possible, but he gave no replacement dates.

His announcement leaves the three appearances on hold while he focuses on his health. Although he had hoped to recover before the weekend, his symptoms made the planned schedule impossible.

A career spanning more than two decades

Nameless, whose real name is David Mathenge, has spent more than two decades in Kenya’s music industry. He rose to prominence in the early 2000s with songs including Nasinzia and Butterfly.

He has since continued performing for audiences across the country. For now, however, his return to the stage depends on recovering sufficiently to travel and perform.
