The former Real Househelps of Kawangware actor has asked Jaguar to help him find work, days after the musician supported ailing singer Marya.
Former Real Househelps of Kawangware actor Onyi seeks employment support from musician-turned-politician Charles Kanyi Njagua, popularly known as Jaguar. In a public appeal, he said he needs work to provide for his children.
The actor thanked Jaguar for helping ailing singer Marya before asking for assistance rebuilding his own livelihood. His request centres on finding employment and earning an income to support his family.
Onyi seeks employment to rebuild his livelihood
Onyi said his children depend on him financially, making work central to his appeal. Rather than asking only for immediate financial relief, he sought Jaguar’s help securing an opportunity to earn.
The appeal follows Jaguar’s recent support for Marya, who continues to recover from an ischaemic stroke. While the singer needs ongoing medical and personal care, Onyi is seeking reliable work.
Jaguar offers support for Marya’s recovery
Jaguar visited Marya on October 15 and contributed Sh100,000 towards her immediate needs. He also pledged further assistance with rent, physiotherapy and caregiving expenses.
The stroke affected the left side of Marya’s body, leaving her facing recovery and continuing care costs. The singer is known for Chokoza, her collaboration with Avril.
Her appearance alongside Colonel Mustapha at his music milestone celebration reportedly prompted Jaguar to check on her again. His visit subsequently drew appreciation from Onyi, who used his public message to raise his own employment needs.
Different needs, shared financial pressures
The two entertainers face different immediate priorities: Marya needs continued care, while Onyi wants a dependable income. Their circumstances illustrate how public recognition can coexist with financial difficulty.
Jaguar has previously urged artistes to treat music as a business and invest their earnings wisely. Onyi’s request, meanwhile, places the emphasis on access to work rather than a one-off donation.
