PSG beat City 4-2 at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday, extending their winning Champions League start. Meanwhile, Bradley Barcola scored his first Liverpool goals with a hat-trick in a 6-3 victory at LASK.

PSG beat City despite Haaland double
Paris Saint-Germain took control early, moving three goals clear just after the half-hour mark. Desire Doue, Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha scored to leave the hosts facing a steep recovery.
City were returning to the Etihad for the first time since their Premier League financial rules verdict. The club faces potentially severe sanctions following findings of serious breaches spanning almost a decade.
However, Erling Haaland led a second-half response as former City manager Pep Guardiola watched on. The striker scored twice, taking his Champions League tally this season to four.
Maghnes Akliouche struck between Haaland’s goals, though, ensuring PSG maintained their advantage. City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma could not stop that effort but later saved a Ferran Torres penalty.
The result matched the scoreline from the teams’ previous Champions League meeting in January 2025. PSG, winners of the last two titles, now have two victories and 10 goals this campaign.
Paris coach Luis Enrique praised his team’s first-half superiority but acknowledged that City had threatened a comeback. Meanwhile, City manager Enzo Maresca argued that his side’s second-half chances merited a better outcome.

Despite that response, Liverpool secured a 6-3 win. Afterwards, Iraola encouraged Barcola to enjoy the achievement, stressing the difficulty of scoring a Champions League hat-trick.
