Search Intensifies for Missing KFS Legal Manager Esther Wairimu

A family is desperately searching for their loved one. Specifically, Esther Wairimu Keige, the 54-year-old Manager of Legal Services for the Kenya Forest Service, was last seen on Wednesday afternoon, June 10, 2026, at the Senate Hotel & Gym in Juja Town.

Furthermore, she was wearing a black dress and black shoes, with her hair styled in a braided ponytail.

Why Her Family Is Urgently Concerned

Esther’s disappearance carries significant medical urgency. Specifically, her family revealed that she is currently being treated for major depression and requires daily medication.

Therefore, they have emphasised that she is vulnerable and needs urgent assistance.

How She Disappeared

The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are specific and concerning. Specifically, due to her medical condition, she had recently hired a female driver. Furthermore, on June 10, the driver stopped at a petrol station while Esther walked into the Senate Hotel to inquire about gym and hotel costs.

When the driver could not reach her by phone, she entered the hotel, only to learn from staff that Esther had already left on foot.

A Concerning Pattern

This is not entirely unprecedented. Specifically, her sister Wanja noted that Esther had wandered off once before a few years ago due to her condition, but was safely located on a nearby farm at that time.

The search continues across multiple counties. Specifically, since filing an official report at Juja Police Station, the family has received unverified sightings spanning Thika, Narok and Namanga.
