Sweden lose Isak for three fixtures
Isak had scored in Sweden’s Nations League victory over Romania on Friday and completed the full 90 minutes. His withdrawal means he will take no further part in the national team’s schedule during the current international window.
Sweden still have matches against Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Romania to play. They will now have to complete those fixtures without the Liverpool forward, who had contributed a goal in their latest win.
The club’s announcement focused on his return for medical assessment rather than the circumstances of the injury. It did not specify the nature of the problem or when it occurred.
Setback follows improved scoring start
