KikoRomeo is preparing to present Kenyan craftsmanship at Moscow Fashion Week on October 1, 2026.
The Nairobi fashion house will present its collection on October 1, 2026, with contemporary tailoring, handloom textiles and zero-waste garment construction.
Kenyan fashion house KikoRomeo will take its latest collection to Moscow Fashion Week on October 1, 2026, bringing its blend of contemporary design and Kenyan craftsmanship to an international runway.
The Nairobi-based label is scheduled to show at the Central Exhibition Hall Manege in Moscow, with its presentation included in the event’s official calendar. The appearance has been facilitated through a collaboration with Nairobi Fashion Week.
Founder Ann McCreath will lead the presentation alongside her daughter, Iona McCreath, who heads special projects at the fashion house. The showcase will introduce the label’s work to a new audience as it marks three decades since its founding.
Kenyan Materials and Craft on the Runway
For the Moscow collection, KikoRomeo is expected to bring contemporary tailoring together with Kenyan craft traditions. Its materials and construction methods include rainfed organic cotton, handloom textiles and zero-waste garment construction, alongside hand-carved coconut shell buttons.
Those elements place both fabric choices and garment-making techniques at the centre of the planned presentation. The collection will carry the label’s emphasis on craftsmanship into a show designed for an international fashion audience.
McCreath said the Moscow appearance offered an opportunity to present KikoRomeo’s creative vision on a significant global stage. She also described it as a chance to introduce the fashion house’s approach to design and Kenyan craft to people encountering its work in a new setting.
Three Decades of Nairobi Design
McCreath founded KikoRomeo in Nairobi in 1996. Over the following three decades, it built its identity around contemporary fashion shaped by East African materials, craftsmanship and design.
The Moscow appearance will therefore put one of Kenya’s longest-running fashion brands before an international audience. Its planned collection continues the combination of contemporary fashion and regional craft influences that has defined the label’s work.
Ann and Iona McCreath will jointly lead the presentation, with Iona participating in her role overseeing special projects.
Opening Doors Beyond the Local Market
Nairobi Fashion Week Creative Director Brian James Kihindas said the collaboration formed part of efforts to give Kenyan designers opportunities outside the domestic market. He described securing a place on Moscow Fashion Week’s official calendar as an unprecedented opportunity for Kenya’s fashion industry.
The partnership provides the route for KikoRomeo’s forthcoming presentation, linking the Nairobi label with the Moscow event and its international audience.
The showcase comes as Kenyan designers pursue access to international markets for locally produced fashion. KikoRomeo’s presentation will bring that ambition to the runway through a collection combining traditional craft influences with contemporary design.
