Swiss Poll International places Wanga and Orengo ahead in their counties, but omits key details about how it conducted the survey.

A Luo Nyanza survey by Swiss Poll International puts Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga at 67% in gubernatorial voter preferences. Meanwhile, Siaya Governor James Orengo records 54% in his county ahead of the 2027 General Election.

The October 2026 County Governors Electability Tracking Report covers Homa Bay, Siaya, Kisumu and Migori. It presents reported voter preferences among contenders for the four counties’ gubernatorial seats.

However, the released information does not specify the sample size, fieldwork dates, methodology or margin of error. Those omissions limit the assessment of the reported figures and differences between candidates.

Luo Nyanza survey places Wanga and Orengo ahead

In Homa Bay, Wanga leads Oyugi Magwanga, who records 14% in the report. Other candidates and undecided respondents together account for the remaining 19%.

Wanga therefore holds a reported 53-percentage-point advantage over Magwanga in the county’s gubernatorial preferences.

In Siaya, meanwhile, Orengo leads William Oduol, who stands at 27%. The figures put Orengo 27 percentage points ahead, while other candidates and undecided respondents account for 19%.

Ojienda leads in Kisumu as Migori records narrow gap

In Kisumu, Prof. Tom Ojienda records 46%, compared with Joshua Oron’s 32%. Other candidates and undecided respondents together make up 22% of the county’s reported preferences.

Migori, however, shows a much narrower gap between the two named contenders. Mark Nyamita stands at 29%, while Governor Ochilo Ayacko follows at 27%.

The combined share for other candidates and undecided respondents reaches 44% in Migori. That is the largest such share across the four counties covered by the report.

Key survey details remain unavailable

The findings offer a snapshot of reported preferences as political activity builds towards the 2027 polls. They track separate county contests rather than a single regional race.

However, without a stated margin of error, the report does not establish whether Migori’s two-point gap is statistically meaningful. The released information also does not separate undecided respondents from those supporting other candidates.
