President William Ruto is scheduled to visit Kwale and Taita-Taveta counties on Monday for a development tour covering land ownership, road construction, affordable housing and sports infrastructure.
The programme will begin with the issuance of title deeds in Kwale before shifting to Taita-Taveta for two road project launches and inspections of ongoing construction works. Ruto is also scheduled to address residents at a public rally in Voi Town at the end of the visit.
Title deeds for Kibaoni residents
In Kwale County, the President will issue title deeds to residents of Kibaoni in Lunga Lunga Constituency. The exercise is intended to formalise land ownership for the beneficiaries.
The Kibaoni event is the first stop on the day’s itinerary and the land-administration component of the two-county visit. It will precede the President’s departure for neighbouring Taita-Taveta, where the programme will focus on roads, a stadium and housing.
The title deed issuance forms part of the government’s continuing land-ownership programmes across the country. Monday’s exercise will focus on beneficiaries in Kibaoni, while the subsequent activities will cover infrastructure projects in and around Voi.
Two road projects lined up for launch
In Taita-Taveta County, Ruto will launch construction of the Maungu-Kasighau Road in Voi Constituency. He will also launch construction of the Voi-Sagala Road during the same visit.
The two projects are expected to improve connectivity within the county. They form the transport component of a programme that combines the start of road construction with progress checks on other development works.
Both roads are scheduled for construction launches, rather than commissioning as completed projects. The President’s other infrastructure stops in Voi will involve inspecting work already under way.
Stadium and housing inspections in Voi
Ruto will inspect ongoing works at Vindo Stadium before visiting the Voi Affordable Housing Project to assess its progress. The two stops will bring sports facilities and housing into the day’s development agenda alongside roads and land ownership.
The stadium visit will focus on the ongoing works, while the housing stop is planned as a progress assessment. Together, these inspections will follow the road launches as the President moves through the Taita-Taveta leg of the tour.
The final scheduled engagement is a public rally in Voi Town, where Ruto will address residents after the project visits.
The tour comes amid continued government activity in infrastructure, housing and land administration across Kenya. For Kwale and Taita-Taveta, Monday’s itinerary brings those programmes into a single visit spanning title deed issuance, construction launches and inspections of ongoing projects.
