Pakistani digital creator Saad Venture is using food, culture and lifestyle content to introduce international audiences to a different side of Kenya.
Through his recent content creation journey in Nairobi, Saad highlights local cuisine, everyday experiences and the people shaping Kenyan culture. His videos offer audiences a closer look at life in the country beyond the headlines.
His work also reflects the growing role of digital creators in promoting tourism and cultural exchange. By sharing personal experiences, foreign creators can help audiences discover destinations through authentic local encounters.
From Animation Studies to Content Creation
Saad holds a degree in Media Sciences from Iqra University in Karachi, Pakistan. He specialised in animation, with minors in film, television and advertising.
His studies introduced him to storyboarding, scriptwriting and visual effects. These skills now support his approach to producing digital videos.
During university, Saad balanced his studies with two jobs. He also faced personal challenges that affected his social life and prompted him to focus on his wellbeing and education.
He first experimented with content creation during the COVID-19 lockdowns. However, personal struggles led him to step away from the venture for nearly five years.
Earlier this year, he returned with a renewed commitment to creating content full-time. This time, he challenged himself to explore new experiences and push beyond familiar boundaries.
Finding His Footing in Nairobi
Building an audience in Kenya has brought its own learning experiences. Saad is learning Kiswahili while adapting to local expressions, cultural differences and everyday interactions.
He has also encountered assumptions about his nationality and occasional teasing over his accent. Despite these moments, he says Kenyan audiences have shown him warmth and encouragement.
Food remains a central part of his content. Through reviews and explorations of local dining spots, he aims to introduce viewers to Kenya’s diverse culinary experiences.
Showing the World Another Side of Kenya
Saad says his mission is to challenge misconceptions about Africa by showing audiences what everyday life in Kenya looks like.
“I’m working hard to show the world the media versus the reality of Kenya. There are many misconceptions about Africa, and I want my content to show a different side — the food, lifestyle, people, culture and experiences that Kenya has to offer,” he said.
He believes personal storytelling can offer a fuller picture of a country often viewed through limited international narratives.
Saad also encourages aspiring creators to approach digital media with patience and consistency. He cautions against expecting overnight success, noting that building an audience requires sustained effort.
“Be patient and consistent. Content creation is not overnight fame; it takes a lot of hard work, time and consistency to build your name and find your audience,” he said.
Exploring Kenya’s Food and Culture
Saad plans to expand his food reviews across Nairobi and other destinations in Kenya. He also hopes to improve his Kiswahili and collaborate with local culinary talent.
His upcoming content will explore street food, lesser-known dining spots and cultural experiences across the country.
As he continues documenting his journey, Saad is building a platform around discovery, everyday encounters and cross-cultural understanding. His work offers international viewers another way to experience Kenya through the eyes of someone discovering it firsthand.
