Wetangula argued that this experience mattered when choosing the country’s next president. His remarks renewed his criticism of Sifuna, who has become a prominent opposition voice.

At the same event, Wetangula urged residents to support Ruto’s bid for a second term. He linked the government’s planned development projects to the region’s economic prospects.

Among the plans he highlighted was the upgrading of the Eldoret-Kapsabet-Chavakali road. He also pointed to a proposed extension of the Standard Gauge Railway to Busia through Vihiga.

Other projects included the construction of Kidundu Stadium and improvements to roads and markets. Wetangula presented these plans as reasons for residents to back the President’s re-election.
