Violent Robbery Trio Arrested in Narok

Three suspects linked to a string of violent robbery cases in Narok town and surrounding areas. They have been arrested by officers from Narok Police Station.

The arrests came after a distress call about a robbery in progress at Total village. This is where a three-man gang reportedly broke into a rental building and robbed tenants of valuables. The items included mobile phones, laptops, and gas cylinders. During the raid, a third-year student at Maasai Mara University sustained serious injuries.

Acting swiftly, police tracked and apprehended the robbery suspects Gideon Kipkorir Rono (22), Haron Kipkirui Bii (25), and Nicholas Kipngetich Bii (32). Authorities recovered three Maasai swords, two Lenovo laptops, seven mobile phones, and a gas cylinder from the trio.

Further investigations led police to the suspects’ residence, where more stolen items—assorted electronics, gas cylinders, and Kenya Power meters—were found. Several of the recovered items have since been identified by their rightful owners.

The injured student is currently receiving treatment at the Maasai Mara University Clinic and is reported to be in stable condition.

The suspects remain in custody as they undergo processing, with the recovered items held as evidence.

Other Robbery Cases in Kenya

Recent weeks have seen a concerning spike in robbery cases across various regions of Kenya. Thus, aising alarm among citizens and security agencies alike. In Nairobi, several neighborhoods have reported incidents involving armed gangs targeting pedestrians, motorists, and business premises, particularly during late-night hours. Police have responded with increased patrols, leading to the arrest of multiple suspects. Some of whom were found in possession of stolen items, crude weapons, and firearms.

In the coastal city of Mombasa, authorities have been cracking down on organized robbery groups that use motorcycles to carry out swift attacks on unsuspecting victims. These groups often operate in pairs or small clusters, ambushing residents in both commercial and residential zones. In one recent case, two individuals were arrested in connection with a series of violent robberies, including one that resulted in a fatality.

Western Kenya has also not been spared, with cases reported in Kakamega, Vihiga, and surrounding counties. Victims, including small business owners and public transport operators, have suffered losses from coordinated attacks. The suspects, some of whom are believed to operate across county borders, have been linked to a number of unsolved robberies.

These developments have sparked calls for stronger community policing and more proactive crime prevention strategies nationwide.
