Mbavu Destroyer Set to Replace Majembe in Vurugu 2 Bout Against Somali Boxer

The Vurugu 2.0 boxing card has a new headline name. Specifically, Mbavu Destroyer has officially been named to replace Majembe in the highly anticipated bout against Somali Boxer on 20th June, 2026. Furthermore, event promoter Oga Obinna confirmed the change by sharing promotional footage of Mbavu Destroyer, assuring fans that fight night will proceed as scheduled.

Why Majembe Walked Away

The fallout stems from a contractual dispute. Specifically, Majembe withdrew after turning down a Sh500,000 contract offer.

Furthermore, Team Majembe rejected several specific clauses within the agreement.

The Disputed Contract Terms

Three clauses reportedly caused the breakdown. Specifically, the contract included a 20 percent agency fee deduction, lifetime image rights ownership transferring to Obinna TV Studios, and mandatory registration on a third-party fan platform.

Therefore, Team Majembe viewed these terms as unfavourable and chose to exit the fight entirely.

Obinna Defends the Terms

Oga Obinna has not backed down from the contract structure. Specifically, he defended the 20 percent commission as standard industry practice.

Furthermore, he stated that the fee covers management, event production and sponsorship costs. Consequently, Obinna maintains that the terms offered were fair and consistent with industry norms.

Enter Mbavu Destroyer

The replacement fighter arrived with confidence and confrontation. Specifically, Mbavu Destroyer openly taunted Majembe, declaring that “real men don’t run.”

Furthermore, he issued a stern warning directly to Somali Boxer ahead of the bout. Therefore, fight night now carries fresh storylines and renewed hype heading into Vurugu 2.0.
