Nairobi County official Geoffrey Mosiria and media personality Oga Obinna are facing off in a KSh30 million defamation dispute. The public feud has now moved from social media exchanges to legal demands.
Both sides have issued seven-day ultimatums through their lawyers. However, no court has ruled on the allegations contained in the demand letters.
Mosiria Demands KSh20 Million From Obinna
Mosiria’s lawyers, Sichangi & Otieno Advocates, issued a demand letter dated September 28, 2026. The letter accuses Obinna TV and related platforms of publishing allegedly defamatory content about Mosiria.
According to the lawyers, some remarks included demeaning and sexualised jokes about Mosiria. They also claim the content triggered online harassment against Mosiria and his family.
The legal team is demanding KSh20 million in compensation. They also want the disputed content removed, retracted and followed by a public apology.
Obinna has been given seven days to comply. His failure to do so could lead to civil proceedings, according to the demand letter.
Obinna Wants KSh10 Million From Mosiria
The latest demand follows a separate legal notice issued against Mosiria by Obinna. His lawyers, Otieno Ogola & Company Advocates, demanded KSh10 million over alleged defamatory statements.
The September 17 letter accused Mosiria of making damaging claims about Obinna on TikTok and other platforms. Obinna’s lawyers said the remarks harmed his reputation, professional standing and goodwill.
They also demanded an apology, retraction and removal of the disputed content. The notice gave Mosiria seven days to respond before possible legal action.
How The Mosiria-Obinna Feud Started
The dispute reportedly dates back to the April 2026 Vurugu Fight Night at Kasarani. Mosiria questioned the circumstances surrounding a boxing match involving Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer.
Obinna rejected the allegations, escalating the disagreement online. The dispute later shifted toward claims made through TikTok and Obinna’s media platforms.
Mosiria has also denied knowing the Kenyan comedian. He said his references to “Obinna” concerned a Nigerian friend who shares the name.
What Happens Next?
The two demand letters now place KSh30 million at the centre of the dispute. However, the demands remain allegations and have not been determined by a court.
Both sides could still resolve the matter outside court. Otherwise, the dispute could move into formal civil proceedings.
