Tesla Cybertruck Stuns Kenyans in Global Record Quest
Excitement erupted across Mombasa when a futuristic Tesla Cybertruck cruised through the coastal city this week. Videos online showed the stainless-steel truck charging at City Mall in Nyali. Consequently, crowds gathered to snap photos, and the clips quickly went viral, sparking curiosity about the truck’s owners and arrival in Kenya.
CyberLocos Team Targets Guinness World Record
The Cybertruck belongs to Berni and Alex, adventurers from the global CyberLocos expedition team. They aim to set a Guinness World Record by driving the vehicle across multiple continents. On January 13, 2026, the team confirmed that Africa is now part of their journey. Previously, they toured the United States, South America, Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East. By including Africa, they plan to test the Cybertruck in diverse and challenging terrains.
Advanced Technology and Performance
The Tesla Cybertruck weighs three tons and is bulletproof, made from ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel. Its features include a range of up to 550 kilometres per charge, towing capacity exceeding 4.9 tonnes, and bi-directional charging for homes or other vehicles. Additionally, the high-performance model accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 2.6 seconds with an 845-horsepower engine. Therefore, it ranks among the fastest and most advanced electric pickups globally.
African Adventure Promotes Sustainable Energy
CyberLocos said their African expedition demonstrates electric vehicle endurance under extreme conditions. From northern Kenya’s deserts to savannahs and highlands, the Cybertruck faces tough terrains. Moreover, the journey promotes sustainable energy, proving EVs can handle harsh environments. The team concluded that electric vehicles inspire cleaner, greener transport solutions worldwide.
