DCI links Ikanga/Kyatune MCA Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka to three alleged phone theft incidents.
Detectives link Ikanga/Kyatune MCA Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka to three phone theft reports and an outstanding warrant in a separate stealing case.
A Kitui MCA arrested over alleged phone thefts in Nairobi’s Central Business District remains in custody, the DCI said. Detectives link Cyrus Kisavi Musyoka, who represents Ikanga/Kyatune Ward, to three reported incidents.
Officers from Kamukunji Police Station arrested Musyoka along Mfangano Street after receiving intelligence about his whereabouts. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations said detectives also used CCTV footage to identify him during their investigations.
Kitui MCA arrested after investigations into three reports
The DCI said the three separate phone theft incidents occurred in August and September 2026. Investigators wanted Musyoka in connection with those reports before officers arrested him in the city centre.
Following the arrest, detectives continued processing the ward representative ahead of his arraignment, the agency said. The allegations concern mobile phone thefts within the CBD.
Separate stealing case carries outstanding warrant
Meanwhile, Musyoka also faces an outstanding arrest warrant linked to a separate stealing case at Makadara Law Courts. The DCI identified that matter as Criminal Case No. 112/303/2024.
In that case, Musyoka had secured release on bond after facing a stealing charge. However, the agency said he allegedly failed to attend court, leading to the outstanding warrant.
The earlier court matter is separate from the three phone theft reports that detectives are investigating. Both featured in the DCI’s account of his arrest and custody status.
The agency reiterated that a suspect’s position in society would not prevent investigators from pursuing criminal allegations. It also said detectives would continue following leads and taking suspects before the courts.
