Kenyans can now access a simpler route to the United Arab Emirates under new visa rules. However, the facility does not apply to every Kenyan passport holder.
The UAE introduced the new arrangement on June 25, 2026. The policy covers eligible Kenyan nationals and qualifying accompanying family members.
Who Qualifies?
Eligible travellers must hold an ordinary Kenyan passport. They must also have a qualifying visa, residence permit or US Green Card.

The 14-day visa costs AED100. Travellers can extend this visa once while staying in the UAE. This option suits short holidays, business trips and stopovers.
2. 60-Day Visa
The 60-day visa costs AED250. Unlike the shorter option, this visa cannot be extended. It provides a longer stay for eligible visitors.
Travellers must leave the UAE before their authorised stay expires. Overstaying attracts a AED50 daily fine.
How Can Kenyans Apply?
Eligible travellers have two main options.
First, they can apply upon arrival at a UAE airport. They should present their original passport and qualifying supporting document. They can then request the preferred 14-day or 60-day option.
