Kiambu School Principal Arrested Over Alleged Abuse of Students
On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, police at Kikuyu Police Station launched a major investigation after arresting the principal of PCEA Mai-a-Ihii Booth Boys High School in Kiambu County over allegations of sexually abusing multiple male students.
Authorities also arrested the school’s Board of Management (BOM) chairperson for allegedly attempting to obstruct investigations by pursuing an out-of-court settlement with the victims’ families.
Students Reported the Alleged Abuse
The case emerged after several students disclosed the alleged abuse to their parents. The parents immediately reported the matter to the police. According to investigators, the alleged incidents occurred inside the principal’s private office.
Students claimed the principal summoned them individually before allegedly subjecting them to unwanted physical contact and sexual advances.
Police Intensify Investigations
Detectives have begun recording statements from students, parents, teachers, and other witnesses. Investigators are also working to establish whether more learners may have been affected.
The police say the inquiry remains active as they gather additional evidence.

Suspects Face Criminal Charges
The principal is expected to face charges related to alleged indecent acts involving minors. Meanwhile, the BOM chairperson faces allegations of obstructing justice.
Police claim the chairperson attempted to interfere with the criminal investigation by encouraging an informal settlement.
Awaiting Court Appearance
Both suspects remain in police custody. They are expected to appear in court for formal arraignment and bail proceedings. Authorities have urged anyone with relevant information to cooperate with investigators.
The case has renewed calls for stronger child protection measures and swift action against abuse in learning institutions across the country.
