Silas Apollo Former NTV Reporter Dead

Former NTV Reporter Silas Apollo is dead. His death has been confirmed by police, who said the incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, April 10. Apollo was working with the Nairobi Law Monthly at the time of his death.

Reports suggest that Apollo passed away after getting hit by a speeding automobile with conflicting reports suggesting a different location of occurrence. However, what is certain is that the driver sped off after the incident.

How Did Silas Apollo Die?

Apollo was crossing the road when he was hit by a speeding vehicle, reports claim. Also, adding that the case was initially reported as “unknown person hit by an unknown vehicle”.

Police report suggests that there were two separate accident incidents along Valley Road and Kiambu Road, raising questions about exactly where the late Apollo sustained injuries before succumbing to death.

Journalism Career

Apollo started his journalism journey at the Nation Media Group as an intern in the print department in 2012. He was later employed by the NMG working as a correspondent. Before he was promoted to a news reporter in 2017 rising through the ranks to become a senior reporter. Apollo left the Kimathi Street media house in 2022 after being laid off in a restructuring exercise by the management.

He will be remembered for being caught up in the Dusit terror attack in Nairobi. Apollo happened to have been on a news gathering expedition before he was caught up in the terror drama.

Since the news of his passing, tributes have poured in from all and sundry celebrating Apollo as a revered journalist who was brilliant at his craft.

Apollo’s death is the latest high-profile incident coming days after former KTN journalist Nick Mudimba passed on after a short illness. These recent months have been had hitting on the media section with death of journalist.
