Eric Omondi Prepares for Nairobi to Busia Walk

Eric Omondi, is gearing up for another ambitious journey. Barely a week after completing a grueling 484-kilometre trek to Mombasa, he announced his next challenge: a five-day walk from Nairobi to the Busia border.

Scheduled to start on Monday, March 2, and conclude on Friday, March 6, Omondi shared the plan on social media, urging fans to follow and support his mission. Consequently, anticipation is building among his supporters and well-wishers.

The Purpose Behind the Walk

Omondi’s walks are driven by his Sisi Kwa Sisi movement, which prioritizes grassroots support for vulnerable Kenyans. Moreover, he seeks to raise funds for the Sisi Kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre, a facility providing free healthcare and education.

He explained, “This centre will ensure that every Kenyan has access to basic health and learning services.”

Therefore, the Busia walk continues his relentless push to improve lives across the country.Erick Omondi

Sisi Kwa Sisi: Achievements to Date

Since its inception, the initiative has made significant impact:

  • Healthcare Support – Thousands have received medical assistance, including surgeries, treatment for chronic illnesses, and emergency care.
  • Educational Aid – The movement has paid school fees, supplied learning materials, and sponsored tuition for students from low-income families.
  • Food and Essentials – Sisi Kwa Sisi distributes food, water, and essential supplies, especially during crises.
  • Help and Rescue Centre – A flagship project offering healthcare, learning spaces, and emergency services.
  • Community Engagement – Rural and urban visits help identify pressing needs while documenting personal stories online.
  • Public Fundraising – Walks, live streams, and social media campaigns have raised substantial funds.
  • Awareness Campaigns – Omondi uses his platform to highlight social issues, including poverty, healthcare gaps, and education inequality.

During the previous 484-kilometre trek, Omondi endured harsh weather and long distances. Nevertheless, he remained determined, often accompanied by supporters. Consequently, the journey drew nationwide attention and inspired donations for his cause.

How Kenyans Can Contribute

Omondi encourages contributions via the Sisi Kwa Sisi Paybill number. Additionally, he documents stories of those in need, using social media to crowdsource funds. This transparency strengthens trust and public participation.

Transitioning from the “President of African Comedy” to an activist has enhanced Omondi’s public image. Furthermore, blending entertainment with philanthropy engages both fans and ordinary citizens.

Ultimately, the five-day Busia walk aims to ensure vulnerable Kenyans access essential healthcare and education, while raising awareness nationwide.
