Police Investigate Officers Who Dragged Disabled Activist

Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja directed the Internal Affairs Unit to complete a thorough investigation within seven days following the violent arrest of a disabled human rights activist during the June 25, 2026 Gen Z memorial protests in Nakuru City.

Specifically, a viral video captured heavily armed officers forcefully arresting James Thuku Mbugua, a physically handicapped activist. Furthermore, officers threw away his mobility crutches, dragged him violently and tossed him into a police vehicle.
