Mosiria’s Stolen Prado Parts Recovered After KSh3,000 Sale Attempt

Stolen vehicle parts from Nairobi Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria’s Toyota Prado V8 have been successfully recovered by Kenya Police. Specifically, suspects were caught attempting to sell the parts for a tiny fraction of their actual value following a swift public alert by Mosiria himself.

How the Theft Happened

The incident occurred in Mowlem, Embakasi West, under particularly unfortunate circumstances. Specifically, Mosiria had parked his V8 while on a humanitarian mission rescuing vulnerable women and children in the area.

Furthermore, criminals targeted his unattended vehicle and stripped off the chrome trims, which carry a market value of over Ksh100,000.

How the Suspects Were Caught

The suspects’ plan unravelled quickly after Mosiria raised the alarm publicly. Specifically, in a rush to dispose of the stolen parts, they approached a buyer and attempted to sell the chrome pieces for just Ksh3,000.

Furthermore, the buyer had already seen public updates about the theft online, recognised the stolen items and helped facilitate the suspects’ arrest. Consequently, police recovered the parts and apprehended those responsible.

Mosiria’s Response

Following the recovery, Mosiria thanked the Kenya Police for their swift response and professionalism. He praised the officers for acting quickly to recover the stolen property and support the investigation. Additionally, he reaffirmed his commitment to serving Nairobi residents with integrity and dedication.

Mosiria said criminal activities would not deter him from carrying out his public duties. He vowed to continue working closely with security agencies to protect residents and uphold the rule of law. He also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities by reporting crime and supporting efforts to make Nairobi safer for everyone.
