Democracy for the Citizens Party leader Rigathi Gachagua has promised fair DCP primaries to Narok County Women Representative aspirant Tayiana Christine Koshal. She is seeking the party’s ticket ahead of the 2027 General Election.

In a statement on X on Saturday, Gachagua said he hosted Koshal at the party’s headquarters. Their discussions centred on her political ambitions ahead of the polls.

Gachagua said the party wanted to listen to Kenyans’ aspirations while pursuing good leadership and public well-being. He therefore assured Koshal that its nomination process would be free and fair.

However, Gachagua did not outline the nomination procedures or disclose further details of their discussions. He also did not indicate whether other aspirants had sought DCP’s ticket for the same seat.

Grassroots engagement in Narok

Alongside the nomination assurance, Gachagua encouraged Koshal to strengthen her engagement with residents across Narok County. He urged her to understand their concerns and priorities as she pursues the parliamentary seat.

Koshal’s bid places her among aspirants seeking party tickets ahead of the 2027 electoral contest. The Narok County Women Representative seat will feature alongside other parliamentary and county-level positions in that election.

Meanwhile, the meeting forms part of DCP’s engagement with prospective candidates ahead of nominations and campaigns. Gachagua also invoked the party’s green-themed slogan to reinforce its political message ahead of the polls.
