Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has been announced as the main headliner for Kenya’s upcoming Detty Dezemba Festival.
Promoters Kolacopia and Active Vibes have named the award-winning singer as the main attraction for the December event.
The festival is scheduled for Saturday, December 12, 2026, in Nairobi. Organisers reportedly expect more than 30,000 music fans to attend the gathering.
The event aims to bring together international performers, Kenyan artists and music lovers for a celebration of African music and culture.
Uncle Waffles Joins the Lineup
Wizkid’s announcement follows the earlier unveiling of South African Amapiano DJ and producer Uncle Waffles as the festival’s first major international act.
The two stars will bring Afrobeats and Amapiano to the same stage. Wizkid has built a global following with hit songs such as Essence and Ojuelegba. He has also expanded his reach through international collaborations and performances across major music markets.
Meanwhile, Uncle Waffles continues to attract global attention with her energetic DJ sets and role in popularising Amapiano beyond South Africa. Organisers have yet to reveal the full supporting lineup, but they are expected to feature local DJs and artists.
Detty Dezemba Ticket Prices
The promoters have announced several ticket categories for fans planning to attend the festival.
The advertised prices include:
- General Access II: KSh 3,500
- Duo Pass for two people: KSh 6,800
- Premium Access II VIP: KSh 10,000
The VIP package reportedly includes fast-track entry, access to an exclusive lounge, premium views of the main stage and dedicated bars and amenities.
Organisers have also indicated that the earliest “Die-Hard” ticket category has sold out. Fans can check ticket availability and purchasing details through the advertised ticketing website, wewannaparty.africa.

Although organisers have confirmed the date and headline performers, they have yet to reveal the festival’s Nairobi venue. They plan to announce the location closer to the event as preparations continue.
With Wizkid and Uncle Waffles leading the international lineup, Detty Dezemba Festival is attracting attention ahead of Kenya’s festive season. Fans now await the venue announcement, supporting acts and further event details.
