Jerusa: The Fearless Woman Conquering the Boda Boda World

Jerusa, a gallant woman, recently shared a video of herself with male boda boda riders. Consequently, her confident presence in this male-dominated field impressed many people.

A Husband’s Foresight
Jerusa previously shared the career’s moving origin. Her late husband, also a rider, wisely taught her how to ride a motorbike. Therefore, she learned the trade early, using his bike occasionally. Tragically, her husband later died from meningitis and malaria. These illnesses were linked to the harsh life of a boda boda rider.

Determined Entrepreneurship
Following his death, Jerusa immediately knew she must support their three children alone. Consequently, she entered the boda boda business. Initially, she earned money by hiring out her late husband’s motorbike. However, the hired rider tragically had the bike stolen. This crushing loss forced Jerusa to restart her business from scratch.

Accepted by Her Peers
Jerusa refused to surrender. A viral video showed her bravely hustling among the male riders. Clearly, her peers treat her as a respected equal. She constantly shows dedication; she previously carried her daughter on her bike after KCSE exams. Moreover, Jerusa handles the cultural hurdles of this male-centric industry well.

A Mother’s Plea
Currently, Jerusa seriously lacks her own motorbike for work. Her son performed well on national exams and needs to join a good high school. Therefore, she urgently needs a stable income. Jerusa has consequently appealed to well-wishers to help her get a motorbike.

She also asserted her professional focus, saying:

“If you are getting into my life for competition, I cut you off because that isn’t my life; I don’t do competition and gossiping.”
