Nairobi Birdman Defends Eating With Wild Birds as Doctors Warn of Health Risks

Nairobi Birdman is defending his unique lifestyle after medical experts flagged it as a public health hazard. Specifically, the Kenyan content creator responded directly to warnings from the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists Union over his habit of sharing food with wild birds.

Furthermore, he argued that he has eaten with wild birds, including scavengers at waste sites for years without contracting any illness. Additionally, he concluded with a simple philosophy: “nature wastes nothing.”

What Doctors Are Warning

KMPDU Secretary General Dr. Dennis Miskellah formally raised serious health concerns. Specifically, he warned that sharing plates and food bites with wild birds exposes both the creator and the public to dangerous zoonotic diseases infections that jump from animals to humans.

Furthermore, the medical union urged the Ministry of Health to send public health officers to intervene and advise him before an outbreak occurs.

Why Birdman Is Not Worried

The content creator remains completely unmoved by the warnings. Specifically, he points to his personal history of strong health as proof that the practice is safe. Furthermore, he frames his bond with birds as natural rather than reckless.

How Kenya Is Reacting

The story has sharply divided Kenyans online. Specifically, critics echo the doctor’s concerns, noting that wild bird droppings and saliva carry deadly fungi and bacteria capable of causing fatal lung disorders.

However, supporters view his connection with birds as a rare organic talent. Additionally, some have jokingly suggested KWS should hire him as a ranger or sanctuary caretaker instead of reprimanding him.
