Kenya Braces for Sunny and Dry Weather This Week
Meteorological Department Issues Advisory
The Kenya Meteorological Department urged Kenyans to prepare for sunny and dry conditions this week. Moreover, occasional rainfall will affect select regions between Tuesday, January 6, and Saturday, January 10.
Strong Winds in Northern Counties
Marsabit and Turkana counties will experience strong winds reaching 12.5 m/s. Additionally, residents are advised to remain cautious during this period.
Highlands and Rift Valley Outlook
The Highlands east and west of the Rift Valley will remain sunny. However, occasional rainfall is expected in the Rift Valley and Lake Victoria Basin.
Central Kenya Weather
Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, and Tharaka Nithi will be sunny. Furthermore, nights will remain partly cloudy with temperatures ranging between 7°C and 29°C.
Eastern and Southern Counties
Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta will experience sunny conditions. Consequently, maximum temperatures will reach 32°C, while minimums will remain at 14°C.
Coastal Region Forecast
Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, Kwale, and coastal Tana River will be sunny during the day. Moreover, nights will be partly cloudy with temperatures between 24°C and 34°C.
Western Kenya Showers
Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, and Trans Nzoia will experience morning sunshine. Later, showers will dominate afternoons, with maximum temperatures reaching 31°C.
Hot Conditions in Northern Kenya
Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo will remain hot and sunny. Additionally, maximum temperatures will rise to 38°C, while minimums will stay at 16°C.
Turkana and Samburu Forecast
Turkana and Samburu will also experience hot sunny conditions. Ultimately, temperatures will range between 16°C and 38°C throughout the forecast period.
