Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo Impeached by County Assembly

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo has been impeached by the County Assembly.

The motion to remove him was initiated by the MCAs, who cited allegations of gross misconduct, abuse of office, and irregular appointments. This marks the third attempt to oust him amid rising divisions within the County Assembly.

The motion was filed by Bonyamatuta Ward MCA Julius Kimwomi Matwere. He accused Governor Nyaribo of gross violations of the Constitution and other laws, as well as abuse of office.

Out of 31 MCAs, 23 were present during the vote. Nineteen voted in favor of impeachment, while four boycotted the process.
