Thugs Kill Guard in KSh 2.5M Kahawa West Robbery

A security guard died early Monday after armed robbers raided a liquor store in Kahawa West, Nairobi. The criminals struck at around 4 a.m., broke into the building, vandalised the CCTV system, and stole goods valued at about KSh 2.5 million.

Police Launch Investigations into the Attack

Kasarani police officers have launched investigations to trace the gang behind the robbery.
Meanwhile, officials are reviewing the damaged security system and collecting evidence to establish how the criminals accessed the premises.

Store Owner Alerts Police After Morning Call

Store owner Nicholas Mwongera said neighbours alerted him at about 7 a.m.
He immediately reported the incident to the Kahawa West Police Station, prompting officers to visit the scene and begin documenting losses.

Residents Blame Insecurity on Prolonged Power Outage

Furthermore, residents have raised concerns over increasing insecurity in the area.
They linked the surge in crime to a prolonged blackout that started after Kenya Power removed a transformer three weeks ago for repair.
Since then, the neighbourhood has remained in darkness, creating what locals describe as a perfect environment for criminals.

Locals Call for Urgent Action from Authorities

Consequently, residents are urging authorities to restore power and tighten security in Kahawa West.
They want quick intervention to prevent further attacks and reassure the community’s safety.
