Uasin Gishu Police Nab Suspect with 28 Rolls of Bhang in Targeted Crackdown

Police officers from Langas Police Station have arrested a male suspect allegedly found with 28 rolls of bhang during a targeted anti-narcotics operation in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County. The arrest happened in the Kona area of Langas, forming part of a broader National Police Service (NPS) crackdown on drug trafficking and illicit alcohol.

Crackdown Targets Narcotics and Illicit Alcohol

During the operation, officers stopped the suspect after noticing suspicious behavior. Upon searching him, they recovered 28 rolls of cannabis concealed in his possession. As a result, the officers immediately arrested him and transported him to Langas Police Station for processing.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect is now in lawful custody and will be arraigned once investigations are complete. This operation is among several ongoing nationwide efforts aimed at identifying drug suppliers. This will break distribution networks and reduce the harmful impact of narcotics on local communities.

Suspect Detained as Investigations Intensify

After the arrest, officers booked the suspect at Langas Police Station, where they documented the seized cannabis and initiated formal investigations. Detectives are now probing whether the suspect is linked to a wider drug distribution ring operating within Kapseret and surrounding areas.

The NPS noted that the arrest highlights its continued dedication to combating drug abuse. This remains a growing challenge, especially among young people in urban and peri-urban settlements.

NPS Urges Public to Support Anti-Drug Efforts

In a statement, the National Police Service reiterated its commitment to eliminating narcotics and illicit alcohol across the country. Additionally, the service encouraged residents to collaborate with authorities by reporting drug-related activities or suspicious behavior.

“The National Police Service remains committed to the fight against narcotic drugs and illicit alcohol. We encourage members of the public to support these initiatives by providing information,” NPS stated.

Through sustained operations and community cooperation, police hope to significantly curb drug-related crime in Uasin Gishu and beyond.
