Frank Backs Spurs Rebuild After Arsenal Loss Ahead of PSG Test
Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank says he will stick to his long-term rebuild plan despite a heavy 4–1 loss to Arsenal. The defeat came just days before Spurs face European giants Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Arsenal cruised past their north London rivals, with Eberechi Eze hitting a stunning hat-trick. The result extended Tottenham’s poor league run, as Frank’s side have won only once in their last five Premier League matches.
Spurs sit ninth with 18 points from 12 games—11 behind leaders Arsenal. Even so, Frank insisted he remains the right man to turn the club around.
“I’m one thousand percent sure I know how to build a team and a club. We’ll do that,” he told reporters in Paris on Tuesday. He added that setbacks come with the job and said he is committed to learning and moving forward.
Frank, Tottenham’s fifth full-time manager in six years, quickly shifted focus to PSG. He believes his squad can deliver a strong response on the European stage.
“We’re now facing one of the best teams in Europe away from home,” the 52-year-old said. “It’s a big challenge, and we’re fully up for it. I’m convinced we’ll bounce back with a good performance.”
Tottenham are 12th in the Champions League table after two wins from four matches. A victory in Paris could push them into the competition’s top bracket.
