The nationwide transport strike on May 18 & 19,2026, paralyzed movement across Nairobi completely. Commuters walked long distances as transport systems collapsed suddenly. Additionally, the strike followed sharp diesel price increases announced by Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority.
