Jeff Koinange Among Top Radio Hosts Facing Reshuffle in RMS

Royal Media Services has announced a sweeping radio reshuffle. Consequently, several veteran presenters are changing time slots.

Jeff Koinange and Patrick Igunza will leave the Hot 96 breakfast show.
Nick Odhiambo and Cynthia Mwangi will take over mornings. Therefore, listeners will wake up to a new pairing.

However, Koinange and Igunza are not exiting the station. Instead, management has moved them to the evening drive show. The shift takes effect immediately.

RMS radio and ICT director Fred Afune confirmed the changes. He described the move as bold but necessary. Accordingly, the company aims to refresh audience engagement.

Radio Citizen Sees Major Lineup Changes

Meanwhile, Radio Citizen has also adjusted its schedule. The Jambo Kenya breakfast show now features Tina Ogal and Abdi Munai. Kuka Kisondio joins the morning team as well.

They replace Vincent Ateya and Melody Sinzore. However, the duo will now host the afternoon drive show. Therefore, their audience will follow them later in the day

Legendary presenter Willy Tuva also receives a new assignment. Qtee, Bensu, and DJ Flash will host Mambo Mseto. Consequently, Tuva shifts to the Waks Tikitaka program.Tuva

The new show relies heavily on Sheng slang. This style contrasts with Tuva’s traditional Swahili identity. Nevertheless, RMS expects creative reinvention.

Regional Stations Join the Shakeup

Additionally, regional stations are revising their rosters. At Mulembe FM, Omar Bakuli moves to the drive show. Pamela Kadima now anchors the breakfast slot.

Similarly, Inooro FM introduces fresh voices. Jeff Kuria and Nyoxx join the Cua Cua drive show. Meanwhile, Nderitu Waihura takes a programming break.

Njuguna and Karwimbo will cover his late-night slot. Therefore, loyal listeners will experience a new rhythm.Inooro studios

Strategy Behind the Reshuffle

RMS views the changes as strategic evolution. Radio stations often rotate popular hosts deliberately. This approach redistributes loyal audiences across time blocks.

Afune says presenters must reach new listeners. Consequently, fans discover different sides of familiar voices. Ultimately, RMS wants stronger cross-program appeal.

The reshuffle signals aggressive innovation. Meanwhile, competitors will watch audience reactions closely. Listeners now decide if the gamble pays off.
