Tuko Kadi Concert: No Voter’s Card, No Entry

The Tuko Kadi Concert will take place on May 1, 2026, at Ngong Racecourse. Eric Omondi organized the event to promote voter registration among Kenyan youth.

Event Details and Unique Entry Requirement

First, the concert will run throughout the day, featuring top Kenyan entertainers. Organizers have confirmed a mix of “Old Skool” and “New Skool” artists.

However, entry will not require money. Instead, attendees must present a valid voter’s card, also known as a “Kadi.” Therefore, the event directly links entertainment with civic responsibility.

Strong Focus on Youth Participation

Notably, the concert targets young voters, especially Gen Z. It aims to increase voter turnout ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

Additionally, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission supports the initiative. The event aligns with a nationwide voter registration campaign starting March 30, 2026.

Where and When to Register

The Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise will run for 30 days. During this period, registration centers will operate at ward level nationwide.

Furthermore, citizens can register at IEBC constituency offices and Huduma Centres. Before March 30, registration continues at select IEBC offices.

For example, residents in Nairobi can visit Anniversary Towers during working hours.kadi

Requirements for Registration

To register, you must be a Kenyan citizen aged 18 or older. Additionally, you must present an original national ID or a valid Kenyan passport.

Importantly, authorities do not accept photocopies or waiting cards.

Simple Registration Process

First, you may complete digital pre-registration through the IEBC platform. Then, visit a registration center for biometric capture, including fingerprints and photos.

Afterward, officials will issue a voter registration acknowledgement slip. This slip will act as your ticket to the concert.

How to Verify Your Registration Status

If you registered earlier, you can still confirm your status; Send your ID number via SMS to 70000. Alternatively, use the IEBC online voter verification portal.

Ultimately, the Tuko Kadi Concert blends entertainment with civic duty. It encourages youth to register while enjoying live performances. As a result, the initiative could significantly boost voter participation across Kenya.
