Eric Omondi Begins Charity Walk from Nairobi to Busia
Eric Omondi has launched a fundraising walk from Nairobi to Busia to support the Sisi kwa Sisi Help and Rescue Centre. He began the trek on 2 March 2026, and he expects to complete it in about five days.
The centre will provide free health care, education, emergency response services, and support for vulnerable Kenyans.
Purpose Behind the Busia Walk
Omondi said the trek will raise funds and resources for the Sisi kwa Sisi Rescue Centre. He explained that the centre will house a medical clinic, warehouse, two ambulances, and a free secondary school.
Moreover, he emphasized that the project will support the poor, emergency cases, and disadvantaged children.
Additionally, he urged supporters to donate in kind, including iron sheets, cement, cooking materials, or prayers.
Route and Timeline
The walk started in Nairobi on Monday, 2 March 2026. Omondi will pass through major towns, including Limuru, Naivasha, Nakuru, Gilgil, Kericho, Kisumu, Maseno, Luanda, Siaya, and Bondo.
Along the 468 km route, he will engage communities and rally donations at multiple stops. Furthermore, the trek follows major highways linking Nairobi to western Kenya.
Inspiration and Previous Walk Success
Earlier in February, Omondi completed a 486 km walk from Nairobi to Mombasa to raise funds for the same project. He explained that the Mombasa trek’s success motivated him to continue walking until he achieves all project goals.
“The dream is alive,” he said, adding that completing the project is his ultimate mission.
Public Engagement and Support
The walk has already drawn supporters who join parts of the journey. Moreover, Kenyans have praised his creative fundraising approach, highlighting solidarity and compassion.
Additionally, Omondi shares updates and videos on social media to keep momentum and public interest high.
Next Steps
Omondi asserts he will walk until reaching the Busia border and advancing the rescue centre project. Meanwhile, he continues to encourage financial and in-kind contributions from Kenyans.
Ultimately, the initiative demonstrates how activism, creativity, and public engagement unite communities for a meaningful cause.
