Isaac Munene Kuria says the FKF Constitution will guide decisions as delegates prepare for Saturday’s meeting in Meru.

All Football Kenya Federation National Executive Committee members will receive a fair hearing at Saturday’s FKF Meru SGM. Consultative Forum Secretary General Isaac Munene Kuria gave the assurance ahead of the Special General Meeting.

The meeting comes amid a yearlong rift between federation president Hussein Mohammed and his deputy, McDonald Mariga. Their strained relationship has affected operations at Kandanda House and the running of Kenyan football.

Meanwhile, 92 FKF delegates are preparing for the meeting, where all NEC members face summons. Kuria, who also chairs FKF’s Trans Nzoia County branch, said each member would have an opportunity to respond.

FKF Meru SGM to seek lasting solution

Kuria said the forum would seek solutions rather than condemn individuals or side with either camp. He also pledged an objective approach, with the FKF Constitution guiding every decision.

Although politics surrounds the meeting, Kuria said its purpose remained protecting Kenyan football and finding a lasting solution. He urged delegates to attend, arguing that internal disputes and blame games had damaged the sport.

However, Kuria said the forum had not mobilised delegates, while expressing hope for full attendance on Saturday. His appeal comes as the federation faces concerns that its leadership divisions could affect Kenya’s tournament preparations.

Kenya will co-host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations alongside Uganda and Tanzania. The continuing dispute therefore carries potential implications beyond the federation’s day-to-day operations.
