Jay-Z is continuing legal action against his accuser’s former lawyers after she withdrew her allegations.
The woman says her claims against Shawn Carter were false and denies receiving payment or facing pressure to retract them.
A woman who accused American rapper Jay-Z of raping her when she was 13 has withdrawn the allegations.
In a new court declaration, she stated that her claims against the rapper were false.
The declaration forms part of an ongoing legal case involving Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter.
In the filing, the woman said she had never met Carter or spoken with him.
She also stated that he had never acted inappropriately toward her.
Her retraction follows the withdrawal of a civil lawsuit she filed in 2024.
She dropped that lawsuit in February 2025.
The suit accused Carter and music executive Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, of drugging and raping her after the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
Both men strongly denied the allegations.
Woman withdraws account of alleged assault
In her latest declaration, the woman rejected the central claims contained in the lawsuit.
She specifically denied the allegation that Carter and Combs assaulted her at an afterparty.
She also withdrew a claim that a third celebrity witnessed the alleged incident.
According to the declaration, none of her allegations against Carter were true.
The statement goes further than the earlier lawsuit withdrawal.
It directly retracts the accusations and disowns the account presented in court.
The woman acknowledged that the allegations caused significant harm to Carter and his family.
She said the damage and suffering could not be fully undone.
The declaration also states that she did not receive money in exchange for retracting her claims.
She further denied that Carter or his representatives threatened, pressured or influenced her decision.
Carter’s legal action continues
Although the original lawsuit ended, Carter continues to pursue legal action connected to the case.
His claims target the woman’s former legal representatives, including attorney Tony Buzbee.
Throughout the dispute, Carter consistently denied the allegations.
He described the lawsuit as false and accused those behind it of attempting to extort him.
After the lawsuit ended, Carter said the allegations had caused lasting emotional distress to his family.
He noted that the withdrawal of the case did not erase the impact it had on his wife, children and loved ones.
The latest declaration arrives while the separate legal dispute involving the woman’s former lawyers remains active.
As a result, litigation linked to the allegations continues despite the withdrawal of the original lawsuit.
Former lawyer responds to retraction
Attorney Tony Buzbee said he had not reviewed the new declaration at the time of his response.
He maintained that the woman provided a consistent account to several lawyers before she retained his services.
Buzbee said any suggestion that she misled her lawyers and the court would be new information to him.
His position differs sharply from the woman’s latest statement.
In her declaration, she withdrew the allegations and denied any wrongdoing by Carter.
She also insisted that no payment, threat or pressure influenced her decision to change her account.
