DCI Emerges Champion in 4th Disciplined Forces Shooting Competition

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations dominated the 4th Edition IPSC Disciplined Forces Shooting Competition after securing seven of the eleven contested titles. The two-day contest in Mombasa brought together Kenya’s top tactical teams for an intense display of marksmanship and precision.

DCI Outperforms Rival Security Agencies

According to a December 1, 2025 press statement, the team outmatched elite shooters from Kenya Defence Forces, the General Service Unit, the Kenya Prisons Service, the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit, and the Kenya Police Service.
The annual event tested shooters’ tactical efficiency through multiple firearm stages designed to replicate real-world operational demands.

DCI Claims Overall Victory

Throughout the contest, DCI shooters maintained a commanding lead, eventually lifting the Overall Winners’ Trophy. This victory placed them ahead of traditionally strong outfits, including KDF and GSU.
Out of 73 competitors across eleven categories, the DCI team captured seven top titles. The remaining four went to KDF, GSU, KPS, and Kenya Prisons.

Top Marksmen Drive the Triumph

DCI extended its winning streak after dominating last year’s edition as well.
Team standout Charles Mugendi, Kenya’s reigning Top Standard Category Marksman, delivered exceptional accuracy with both pistol and rifle. His performance became the benchmark for the team’s overall success.

Other impressive performers included Superintendent Peter Kiveleeti, who secured a leading men’s title, and KDF sharpshooter Agatha Muchiri, who earned the ladies’ Top Shot award.

Competition Hosted at Bamburi Rifle Club

The championships took place at the renowned Bamburi Rifle Club, where Club Chairman Abdulhakim Daud applauded all teams for their discipline, focus, and commitment.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were Philip Ndolo, Chairperson of the Kenya Sports Shooting Federation, and Ramadhan Mohamed, Vice Chairperson of the Bamburi Rifle Club, alongside members of the Firearm Licensing Board.

Civilian Shooters Featured in Parallel Contest

In addition, this year’s event included a civilian IPSC competition. The segment aimed to promote responsible firearm handling and support the fast-growing community of shooting sports enthusiasts across the country.
