NTSA Appoints Nashon Kondiwa as New Director General
The National Transport and Safety Authority has officially named a new Director General. The authority appointed Nashon Kondiwa to lead the agency for three years.

Leadership Transition at NTSA
Kondiwa succeeds Angela Wanjira, who served in an acting capacity. She held the role since November 2025.
Her interim leadership followed the exit of former Director General George Njao. Notably, Njao completed his maximum two terms before stepping down.
As a result, the authority begins a new chapter under permanent leadership. Officials expect a smooth transition.
Board Emphasizes Stability and Continuity
The NTSA board described the appointment as strategic and timely. Moreover, members stressed the importance of continuity in transport regulation.
They noted that stable leadership supports ongoing road safety reforms. Additionally, it strengthens institutional accountability.
Kondiwa now assumes responsibility for national transport oversight. He will guide enforcement, licensing, and road safety programs.
Expectations for the New Director General
Industry observers anticipate policy consistency under the new administration. Furthermore, stakeholders expect stronger enforcement of safety regulations.
The authority continues to face pressure to reduce road accidents. Therefore, leadership efficiency remains critical.
Kondiwa’s three-year term offers a window for measurable reform. Officials believe his appointment reinforces operational confidence.
Ultimately, the transition signals renewed focus on transport governance. The agency aims to enhance safety and public trust nationwide.
