Opposition Leaders Accuse Govt of Mishandling Assets and Elections

Asset Sales Under Fire

DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa has criticised the government over the ongoing sale of state assets. He said the privatization of Safaricom, KPC, and JKIA is happening without public consultation.
Wamalwa claimed JKIA has been “compromised to favour a select few,” calling the process a “quiet auctioning of our sovereignty.”

Concerns Over Health Deal

He also cited court orders against an opaque health agreement with the US. Wamalwa urged Kenyans to demand accountability and protect national sovereignty.

Rigging Claims in By-Elections

Wamalwa accused the government of influencing recent by-elections. He alleged that Nabii Nabwera, Stanley Livondo, and former CS Rashid Echesa financed the chaos.
He said IEBC failed to act and demanded consequences for the chairperson and CEO Marjan. Wamalwa warned that Kenyans face a “bleak Christmas” under what he called “Ruto-preneurship.”

Drought and Misuse of Relief Food

The opposition accused state officials of using relief food to sway voters in drought-hit areas. Wamalwa called for immediate assistance from both county and national governments.

Kalonzo Faults Lack of Public Participation

Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka said the state is selling public assets without involving citizens. He also criticised the confusion around the release of exam results.

Economic Hardship Highlighted

Deputy President and DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua said Kenyans “have nothing to celebrate.”
He blamed unpaid capitation and failing public services. He highlighted stalled roads such as the Nairobi–Nakuru highway and called for a “one-term solution.”

Muturi Decries Costly Mismanagement

DP party leader Justin Muturi hit out at the administration over corruption. He cited the cancelled Rironi–Mau Summit project, which cost taxpayers Ksh6.5 billion.
“You cannot transform Kenya into Singapore while corruption is the order of the day,” he said.
