President Ruto Confers National Honours to 881 Kenyans on Jamhuri Day

President William Ruto awarded national honours to 881 distinguished Kenyans in a ceremony. The event took place at State House, Nairobi, on Jamhuri Day, December 12, 2025.

Second Class Order of the Golden Heart (E.G.H.) Recipients

Notably, Attorney General Dorcas Odour, Kristina Pratt Kenyatta, and Kajiado Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu received Second Class E.G.H.
Additionally, Cabinet Secretaries William Kabogo, Debora Barasa, Lee Kinyanjui, and Jaffer Mohamed were also honoured.

Military Honours: Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart

Kenya Army Lieutenant General Keter Kipkemboi and Air Force Commander Major General Waliaula Bernerd received the M.G.H.
These awards recognized their exceptional leadership and service to national security.

Chief and Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear

Mary Chebukati, Senator Veronica Maina, MP Didmus Barasa, and 79 others received the C.B.S.
Meanwhile, 74 Kenyans, including Justice Kanyi Kimondo and Brig. Adan Hassan, were awarded the E.B.S.

Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear

Furthermore, 235 Kenyans received the M.B.S. for distinguished service in public service, academia, arts, and security.
The honours highlighted contributions that strengthened national development and community service.

Order of the Grand Warrior Awards

President Ruto also conferred the O.G.W. to 164 Kenyans.
These individuals demonstrated valour, self-sacrifice, and excellence beyond ordinary duty.

Head of State Commendation: Civilian and Military Divisions

Musician Ian Oure, known as Iyanii, received the H.S.C. Civilian Division Award for exceptional contributions to music.
Additionally, 88 civilians and 189 military officers were honoured for patriotism, leadership, heroism, and sacrifice.

Silver Star and Distinguished Silver Medals

The President posthumously awarded Silver Star Medals to three officers killed during the MSS mission in Haiti.
Moreover, 38 other individuals received the Silver Star Medals.
Two officers, Jairus Okoyo and Njeru Gilbert, received Distinguished Silver Medals for outstanding bravery.
