SHA Appoints 82 New Principal Officers to Strengthen Service Delivery

On Saturday, December 13, SHA CEO Mercy Mwangangi announced the appointment of 82 new principal officers. She emphasized that the move aims to bolster managerial capacity and improve service delivery across departments.

Transparent Recruitment Process Completed
The appointments followed a competitive and transparent recruitment process that began on July 29, 2025. Consequently, the new officers will play a critical role in supporting SHA’s health reform mandate.

Officers Assigned Across Key Departments
The appointments span legal services, benefits management, supply chain, planning, and county registration compliance. Additionally, officers were named in national registration compliance, fund management, and finance.

Strengthening Human Resource and Customer Experience
SHA also appointed officers in charge of human resource management and customer experience. Moreover, these roles are expected to enhance efficiency and improve stakeholder engagement.

Expanding ICT and Communication Functions
Other appointments include officers in ICT, corporate communication, internal audit, and records management. Therefore, SHA aims to modernize systems and strengthen accountability within its operations.

Claims Management Officers in Counties
A significant portion of appointments went to claims management, with 47 officers named in county roles. This step ensures smoother claims processing and better service delivery at the grassroots level.

Mwangangi expressed gratitude to SHA staff for their dedication during the transition period. She noted that their support has been vital in overcoming management challenges.
