UDA Announces Repeat Grassroots Elections
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) announced repeat grassroots elections in four counties after unresolved issues in earlier polls.
Moreover, the National Elections Board (NEB) confirmed the reruns will strengthen transparency and fairness in party leadership structures.
Counties and Polling Centres Affected
According to the January 10, 2026 notice, repeat polls will occur on Sunday, January 11, 2026.
Additionally, voting will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at designated polling centres.
In Samburu County, elections will take place at Harsim Primary School and Losirukoi Nursery.
Nyeri County will conduct voting at Mathari Nursery and Kanoga Primary School.
Laikipia County will hold elections at Nturukuma Kenya Fibre in Nanyuki Ward.
Baringo County will conduct polls at Kadia Center, Ayeleion Dam, and Ngeleya Primary School.
Party Clarification and Dispute Resolution
UDA clarified that only polling centre delegates will participate in the repeat elections.
Furthermore, delegates have been instructed to report to specified locations for voting.
The directive, signed by NEB Chairperson Anthony Mwaura, emphasized compliance with party rules.
Meanwhile, UDA’s Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee activated a formal process to handle disputes.
In a separate January 9 notice, the committee directed disputes be lodged within 24 hours of results.
Consequently, UDA aims to address electoral irregularities internally and maintain credibility in grassroots elections.
