The association says it suspended the comedian on May 2, 2026, before he announced his immediate resignation as secretary general.

The Digital Content Creators Association of Kenya (DCCAK) has disputed the account of the Terence Creative exit. It says it suspended the comedian on May 2, 2026, before he announced his resignation as secretary general.

Terence addressed his resignation letter to the association’s chairperson and executive committee, saying he would leave immediately. He thanked DCCAK for the opportunity to serve and reaffirmed his commitment to empowering creatives.

He also pledged to support content creators through skills development, mentorship and opportunities for sustainable livelihoods. His resignation announcement remains on his social media platforms.

However, DCCAK said in a social media statement that it had already suspended Terence following rape allegations. The association said a young woman made the allegations over an incident at a massage parlour in Kiambu County.

DCCAK described the suspension as a precautionary administrative measure, pending investigations by the relevant criminal justice agencies. In its May 2026 letter, the board cited concerns about protecting the association’s integrity, reputation and operations.

The letter also referred to allegations circulating on social media. It said the board understood that criminal justice agencies were actively investigating the matter and would await due process.

Meanwhile, the association said it had not received an official update on the allegations’ status or resolution. DCCAK added that it took such matters seriously and remained committed to integrity, accountability and professionalism.

Terence has not publicly responded to the association’s latest statement.
