Wicknell Chivayo has announced new Toyota Fortuners and cash gifts for 15 fellow church members.
The Zimbabwean businessman says each beneficiary will receive a new Toyota Fortuner and US$5,000 in recognition of their commitment and service to the church.
Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has announced plans to give 15 fellow church members new Toyota Fortuners valued at a combined Sh155 million, alongside cash gifts recognising their service to the church.
Chivayo said the beneficiaries would each receive a 2026 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 GD-6 and US$5,000. He put the total value of the vehicles at US$1.2 million, while the cash allocation for the group amounts to US$75,000, approximately Sh9.7 million.
The announcement, made on September 25, adds to a series of vehicle and cash gifts that the businessman has unveiled for church members and prominent religious leaders.
Beneficiaries drawn from three areas
Chivayo said the 15 recipients come from Domboshava, Chiweshe and Murehwa. He described them as members who had remained dedicated to the church, followed its teachings and continued to serve faithfully.
He presented the gifts as a gesture of appreciation for that commitment, congratulating the selected members ahead of the planned vehicle collection.
In his announcement, Chivayo said the vehicles had arrived and instructed the recipients to collect them from Enterprise Car Sales on Wednesday, with arrangements to be handled through Madzibaba Chipaga.
The US$5,000 allocated to each recipient is separate from the vehicle gift. Chivayo described the money as an additional token of appreciation for their contribution to church life.
Earlier package for UFIC members
The latest announcement follows another package unveiled only days earlier for 12 members of the United Family International Church (UFIC). That initiative also paired vehicles with substantial cash allocations.
Under the earlier arrangement, 10 ushers were set to receive Toyota Fortuners and US$10,000 each for fuel. Two church leaders were to receive 2026 Toyota Land Cruiser LC300 ZX vehicles, with each also allocated US$20,000 for fuel.
While both announcements recognised people within religious communities, the latest package covers 15 beneficiaries and provides the same vehicle model and cash amount to each. The earlier UFIC package distinguished between the gifts allocated to ushers and those intended for the two leaders.
Luxury gifts for church leaders
Chivayo has also announced high-value presents for senior religious figures. On September 16, he unveiled a birthday gift for Zion Christian Church leader Bishop Nehemiah Mutendi comprising a new facelift-model Rolls-Royce Cullinan and US$250,000.
A week later, he gifted UFIC founders Emmanuel Makandiwa and Ruth Makandiwa a 2026 Mercedes-Maybach. That gesture followed a reported Sh129 million donation to their ministry.
Together, the announcements place the latest Fortuner giveaway within a broader pattern of support involving both church leaders and members. For the newest group of recipients, Chivayo cited dedication and faithful service as the reasons for their selection.
