Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and former Nairobi County Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria have clashed over claims surrounding the 2026 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

The disagreement erupted on Wednesday, November 4, after Owino claimed his online revision sessions had accurately predicted much of the examination content.

The legislator said 90 per cent of the topics covered during his free virtual lessons appeared in the ongoing national examinations.

His remarks prompted Mosiria to question how politicians could achieve such accuracy. He urged the Ministry of Education and the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) to investigate possible examination leakages.

Mosiria Calls for KCSE Leakage Probe

Mosiria expressed concern that some politicians could be accessing confidential examination materials before candidates sit their papers.

He argued that such access would undermine fairness and disadvantage students without access to the same revision platforms.

The former county official called on education authorities to investigate the allegations. He also urged them to take action against anyone found responsible for leaking examination papers.

However, Mosiria did not publicly establish that Owino had accessed confidential examination materials. His remarks raised concerns and called for an investigation.

Babu Owino Responds With Sharp Insults

Owino dismissed Mosiria’s criticism and defended his revision programme. In a response shared on social media, the MP mocked Mosiria’s intelligence.

“I know you have ice cream brain cells that melt under pressure. No wonder you struggle to understand predictions,” Owino wrote.

The exchange quickly attracted attention, with the two trading personal remarks online. Mosiria responded by accusing Owino of relying on stimulants and lacking an intelligent argument. He challenged the legislator to present facts instead of insults.

Debate Over Babu Owino’s Free Revision Classes

Owino has used online platforms to offer free revision lessons to KCSE candidates. His sessions cover subjects including Mathematics and Chemistry. He has also encouraged learners to use the lessons when preparing for national examinations.

The MP’s latest 90 per cent accuracy claim has generated mixed reactions. Some social media users defended his teaching initiative and argued that teachers can anticipate examination topics through syllabus analysis.

Others supported Mosiria’s call for scrutiny, saying examination confidentiality must remain protected.

The Ministry of Education and KNEC had not publicly confirmed any examination leakage linked to Owino at the time of publication. Therefore, the allegations remain unproven.

The disagreement has renewed public discussion about examination integrity, revision programmes and equal access to learning resources.
